A human family was strong in the Force. During the High Republic Era, two sisters in the family, Elecia and Oliviah were discovered to be Force-sensitive, and a Jedi seeker arrived to test their abilities. Elecia proved to not be good enough, though Oliviah was, and was taken by the Jedi to be trained, which Elecia came to resent. Elecia later claimed that when she was old enough she went to look for her younger sister, but was not allowed near Oliviah. During her time as a Jedi, Oliviah remebered little about her life before the Jedi Order, mostly images of faces, those of a man and women she thought were her parents, but she was not sure, and that of her playing with her sister when the Seeker knocked on their door.[1]
Eventually, Elecia rose to become the leader of the group known as the Path of the Open Hand, and still bitter because of the Jedi's refusal to take her as a child, set out to destroy those who, in the eyes of Elecia and the Path, bent the Force to their will and caused it to become inbalanced. Oliviah, meanwhile, rose to the rank of Jedi Knight. During the Battle of Jedha, Oliviah saw Elecia, and was spoken to by the Force, which unearthed memories Oliviah did not know she had, that of the two sisters demonstrating their abilities to the Seeker.[1]
The two sisters reunited during the Battle of Dalna.[1]
