- "He's a Vintian, from Vint."

Vintians were a sentient species from Vint that had an appearance similar to that of a regular rock. Geode was the nickname of a Vintian who served as the navigator of the transport Vessel during the High Republic Era.
Biology and appearance[]
- "This rock—"
"Is not a rock. This is our Vintian navigator for the trip back to Starlight. He's known by his nickname, which happens to be Geode. Geode, this is Elzar Mann, Jedi Knight." - ―Elzar Mann and Orla Jareni
The Vintian were a sentient species from Vint that had flinty, flaky surfaces. To some species, Vintians resembled rocks or boulders. Despite tending to stand still for long periods of time, Vintians were capable of independent movement. Vintians rested by recrystalyzing and mated during mating smelts, which happened every few years.[1] Vintians could decide whether or not they were magnetically sealed, giving them protection from wounds and capable of deflecting blaster fire.[2]
Society and culture[]
Vintians rarely participated in space travel or commercial spaceflight operations respectively as they preferred to remain settled on Vint. However those who did were in high demand because of their extreme sturdiness which included being able to survive in the void of space for up to 2 hours without harm, some were also known for their excellent navigation skills. At least one Vintian was known to frequent bars and clubs and was considered to have a "wild-man" personality. However Vintians could also be quite stoic. Their complex language could only be spoken by those without a mouth.[1]
