- "Jedi. Ahsoka is Jedi."
- ―Gantika
Gantika was a Togruta female who served as the elder of a village on the planet Shili during the Republic Era. When Pav-ti Tano and Nak-il Tano's daughter Ahsoka Tano was born, Gantika was summoned to the scene in order to be informed of the child's name. A year later, when Pav-ti took Tano on a hunting rite of passage, Gantika marked the mother and daughter's brows with blue paint as a sign of good luck. Tano was abducted by a raxshir during the hunting trip, and when she miraculously returned to the village riding the creature, which left voluntarily, Gantika identified her as a Force-sensitive.[1]
