Lewis Galoob Toys, Inc was a toy company that was bought by Hasbro. Galoob released several waves of Star Wars playsets and figures during its run, including the Shadows of the Empire Micro Machines set in 1996 and the Micro Machines Epic Collections sets.
History[]
Galoob participated to the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire project and produced figures of the characters (both original and new) and six vehicles of the story. In the spring of 1996 (according to projections) 100,000 units were released under the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Micro Machines brand.[2]
In 1997, Galoob discontinued all of its other male action toy lines to focus exclusively on its Star Wars toys, which it called its "most important asset".[3] On September 29, 1998,[1] Hasbro Inc. acquired Galoob for $220 million.[4]
