A data screen unit (DSU) was a unit of data storage measurement that was based on the amount of data that could be displayed on a standard datapad.[1] Arhul Hextrophon's report on the Alliance to Restore the Republic that had been commissioned by Mon Mothma was 168,000 DSUs in length, and would have taken an individual over seven hundred hours to read in its entirety. However, this estimate relied on the reader achieving a high reading rate of one screen every fifteen seconds.[2] The Task Force on Alliance Security's report into major threats to the Rebellion totalled 9,200 DSUs.[3] The Companion2000 datapad had a storage capacity of five million DSUs.[4]
