The warden is a fish who appears in the episode "The Inmates of Summer," the Nintendo DS version of the video game SpongeBob's Boating Bash, and The Patrick Star Show episode "X Marks the Pot." He keeps the prison Inferno Island in order.
Description[]
He is a tall, lavender fish who wears an olive green suit with a green tie and a hat. His face is modeled on that of his voice actor.
Role in series[]
"The Inmates of Summer"[]
He is very cruel to SpongeBob and Patrick along with the other prisoners, and acts like a military drill sergeant more than an actual warden. Despite this, he has a soft spot for musical theater.
When the scoutmaster of SpongeBob's troop arrives, the Warden is disgusted to hear all of the activities that the camp has to go through. When he remarks that not even the vilest of people deserve that, the Warden gets an idea to punish the inmates for trying to escape by making them go through the camp's activities.
"X Marks the Pot"[]
The warden was seen serving as the warden of the Bikini Bottom Jail in the past rather than Inferno Island where he oversaw Man Ray's release, believing that Man Ray had paid his debt to society. In the end though, the warden escorted Man Ray back to prison once more after the latter broke into the Star house and indirectly sucked the entire cosmos into a parallel universe with his doomsday device, with the warden actually showing amusement at Man Ray's antics.
Trivia[]
- The warden's appearance and demeanor are base on those of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman from the 1987 Stanley Kubrick film Full Metal Jacket, whom R. Lee Ermey also portrayed.
