Holographic meatloaf is a hologram of real-life meatloaf made by Karen. It first appears in the episode "The Algae's Always Greener."
Description[]
It is a light brown, live-action form of meatloaf on a platter of lettuce, radishes, cherry tomatoes, and other live-action vegetables. It is, evidently by its name, holographic.
Role in episode[]
Plankton had a hard time infiltrating the Krusty Krab, walking back to the Chum Bucket in defeat, so he requests Karen to make him some food. As requested, she synthesised him some food, holographic meatloaf. He states that this food is the only thing he can eat and then proceeds to eat it with a fork. At first, he dislikes the meatloaf because it shows how unsuccessful he is in contrast to Mr. Krabs. As a result, he slams the food off the table in anger and refuses to eat it.
At the end of the episode, after the events of switching lives with Mr. Krabs turn out to be excruciating for him, Plankton returns to his normal life and develops a new-found interest for the meatloaf, stating that it is now his favorite, then he proceeds to eat it enthusiastically.
