Gotta Dance Soul Line Dancer.
Tina Jackson, known by her community as Tina “Lady of Line Dance” Jackson, has been teaching soul line dancing for over 15 years. Every week she brings people together from all walks of life to learn the classic routines and come together through the music.
For Jackson, teaching soul line dancing is how she gives back to her community. She was born and raised near Rondo in the St. Anthony neighborhood and grew up going to the Oxford Community Center. Food, Games, Shopping and More!
Sister Spokesman is a nonprofit event series sponsored by the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder.
Community events are a part of the Minnesota Spokesman Recorder’s commitment to our readership. MSR Publisher Tracey Williams-Dillard founded the nonprofit Sister Spokesman to address the often-expressed need for gathering spaces that cater to and celebrate African American women in the Twin Cities.
The afternoon includes a delicious meal, discussing impactful topics, music, giveaways, shopping, and more.
The Sister Spokesman vendor market serves as a commerce hub for Black entrepreneurs to cultivate a consumer base while allowing shoppers to keep their dollars in the community.
Our attendance is from 75-100 women every month.
