"The best email alternative for a company" Posted 2022-08-30
Pros: I really enjoyed the contact with the Mailfence team and how simple the service is to use with all the different features.
Cons: I don't really have any cons to say about the service.
Overall: My company has been using G-Suite services for years when they decided the service would no longer be free. We had to quickly find an alternative for our clients and, fortunately, the Mailfence team was able to help us, and we managed to make the transition before being charged by Google. I would say I really appreciate how simple it was and I am fully satisfied with the different features (the Calendar, the chat...). It is a true alternative that worked well for us.

"Super privacy and service" Posted 2022-06-18
Pros: Great and responsive customer service. Fair behaviour towards customer and super helpful.
Super easy to set up IMAP account in thunderbird and good explanation and assistance with PGP encryption. I feel safer using this service now.Cons: Nothing so far. There is nothing negative to say about this service. I made a small mistake with adding credit balance and the guys fixed this in less than a day. What more can you ask for?
Overall: I would recommend this service based on my first few weeks of experience.

"Security, Simplicity, Smart Features, and Service" Posted 2022-05-20
Pros: I have used Mailfence for a year now and have been super pleased. I have the Entry plan...one step up from the free version, which I think I got because it let me have aliases. The trigger for me to leave earthlink after 20+ years and switch specifically to Mailfence was Mailfence pointing out to me their use of TLS/SSL Connection Security, which solved the "does not support encrypted password" messages I suddenly had started getting when using my earthlink email service. I also like that I got to create my own 10 aliases, as opposed to goofy aliases that earthlink had picked for me, and doing it was super easy. And Mailfence costs half of what I had been paying for Earthlink. And instead of getting into shouting matches with Earthlink's customer service, now I get pleasant exchanges with people who listen. They told me it's possible to arrange for a phone call, which seems a bit tricky, but so far emails have worked out great. I even prefer email to phone calls since it gives me a documented knowledge base.
Cons: Setup was a bit non-intuitive to me. It was also a bit tricky achieving what I was used to....having email come into different aliases and end up in different buckets. But once I understood the system, by using filters, it felt easy-peasy.
Overall: Excellent overall experience. I would have preferred if the interface had walked me through the setup step by step, but maybe that was just "me."

"Great alternative to G-suite" Posted 2022-03-06
Pros: Easy to set up your account after having used Google for so long. The pricing is very competitive for the number of services they’re offering, Messages, Documents, Calendar. Very strong security system with great customer support. While I couldn’t sync my contacts from another account, an email to them solved it by the end of the day.
Cons: No major issues discovered until now. The website might seem a bit crowded at the beginning but after getting used to it, it feels very intuitive.
Overall: Reliable service that has everything I need and even more. After deciding to switch from Google services because of their security issues, Mailfence was an easy alternative to choose because of their secure and friendly services.

"If you're into privacy, consider Mailfence" Posted 2022-02-20
Pros: Privacy: Mailfence collects so little data compared with Google, Facebook and other giants in the market, and it doesn't sell or share your data.
Encryption: Mailfence recommends you use a strong password, 2 Factor Authentication and PGP, it even has a PGP key generator, where they make your PGP key and uploads it to a server (if you would like to).Cons: The interface looks a bit off for me, they haven't introduced dark mode until recently, but you'll get accustomed with it.
They also don't have POP/IMAP on the free plan, but for 2,50 € (About $2,83 on February 20th 2022) you get that functionality.Overall: If you're into privacy, check Mailfence. It's a great competitor with other privacy-respecting e-mail providers, like ProtonMail, for example.

"Mailfence Is My ProtonMail Replacement" Posted 2022-02-03
Pros: I have been a long-time premium user of ProtonMail and its desktop and IMAP functions have worked well. However, I have had issues with the Android app and neither tech support or the sub-Reddit have been able to help me out, so I went looking for an end to end encrypted alternative.
The shortlist consisted of mailbox.org, Posteo and Mailfence. Many years ago I worked on a project for the European Commission and as Mailfence was Belgium-based I asked a former colleague who lives in the country was the company and its service secure and reputable. Both came back affirmative, so I signed up for a year with the basic premium version.
I am not a huge fan of browser-based email systems. Also, spending more time away from the desktop, it was important to find a service that had bombproof IMAP and SMTP for Aqua Mail on my Android devices. Set up was simplicity itself, as was putting it on my desktop third-party email clients Postbox and Mailbird.
Mailfence also has a calendar and document storage area, although neither works on remote devices, this was not an issue for me.
What I found outstanding was due to operator error (me) I was locked out of my account due to a 2FA issue. I fired off an email to Mailfence support and after answering some pretty in-depth questions (top notch security) I was back up and running in around an hour. Unbeatable service.
This was a clincher and I have no problem in now spending time switching relevant services and website logins to Mailfence.Cons: Nothing has been discovered as yet and due to the positive reviews from experts, I do not expect to find any. However, due to a very positive experience with their tech support, if something does arise, I am sure the tech team will resolve them swiftly.
Overall: Professional, easy to set up, first-rate tech support and all the features I require and it works perfectly on all of my devices.

"Valuable service" Posted 2022-01-25
Pros: Comparing the fees paid to the services provided, i think the package is very valuable. They serve me the best just by paying less than half of what other professional companies are offering.
Cons: Some features are only used with Mailfence subscribers which is not a good thing. If I want to use these features with friends or colleges, they will have to subscribe.
Overall: In conclusion i feel very safe and secure with Mailfence. A great experience and great value.

"Great alternative to Big Tech emails" Posted 2022-01-19
Pros: The security, transparency, and reliability are great. Love the fact that I have options other than Gmail and Outlook.
Cons: No android app available, even on F-Droid.
Free version's calendar is a bit too restrictive.
Literally cannot use for Apple account because it's so unknown as a service.Overall: While I wish there was an app to install and give me consistent notifications, the web app on mobile is good and on PC it's great. The extra cloud storage and calendar functions are awesome, if restrictive in the free version. Do highly recommend overall.
