"Essential to have one on Mac." Posted 2024-03-29

Pros: Dual-pane interface: Commander One offers a dual-pane view, allowing you to easily manage files and folders between two locations.
Advanced file operations: It provides various advanced file operations, such as batch renaming, file compression, and file searching, which can improve productivity.
Cloud storage integration: Commander One supports integration with popular cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, and Microsoft OneDrive, allowing you to manage cloud files alongside local files.
FTP/SFTP client: It includes built-in support for FTP and SFTP connections, making it easy to manage files on remote servers.
Customizable: The application is highly customizable, allowing you to configure the interface, shortcuts, and other settings to suit your preferences.
File viewer: It includes a built-in file viewer for various file types, eliminating the need for external applications for viewing files.
Archive support: Commander One supports a wide range of archive formats, including ZIP, RAR, 7ZIP, TAR, and others, making it easy to work with compressed files.

Cons: Mac-only: Commander One is only available for macOS, so if you need a similar tool for other operating systems, you'll have to look elsewhere.
Learning curve: The application has a bit of a learning curve, especially for users unfamiliar with dual-pane file managers or advanced file operations.
Price: While Commander One offers a free version with limited features, some advanced features require purchasing the Pro version, which may be a downside for users looking for a completely free solution.

Overall: Commander One is a powerful file manager for macOS, offering a wide range of features for managing files and improving productivity. However, it may not be suitable for users who are looking for a free or cross-platform solution.

    "Useful App" Posted 2023-05-05

Pros: - The interface is user friendly. I can easily find what I'm looking for.
    - Switching between my connections is pretty simple.
    - Having a built-in terminal speeds up my SSH operations a lot.
    - Lots of functions available.
    - Simple to use and addictive. I can't even open my Mac's Terminal app anymore.

Cons: I've only seen one negative thing so far:
Sometimes files over SSH are not refreshed in file explorer. I may have to exit the folder and re-enter. I hope this question will be resolved in a new update.

Overall: I've used such applications on Windows before, but after switching to Mac, Commander One seemed like a medicine to me. Every time I use it, I discover another feature. I hope they continue to improve. I started recommending it to all my friends. I recommend it to everyone!

    "Excellent" Posted 2023-04-11

Pros: This does everything Finder can't do. Nice and tight interface, very logically laid out, lots of options but seriously, out of the box is ready to go just as it is. complete access and visibility to source and destination in one tidy layout.

Cons: Cannot find any con's to this at all. I keep getting positive surprises the more I work with this.

Overall: After decades of Microsoft, I took the plunge and converted all my laptops and desktop data to a new IMAC. MAC Migration Assistant is seriously lacking in execution and directions. After wasting way too many hours undoing the migration mess, I decided to move my data the old fashioned way with an external SSD. MAC split screen would work for what I was trying to do but just really didn't give the visibility I needed. I found Commander One and it just really nailed it! This is what I needed, exactly. If you have a MAC, you need this, you really need this. I am now sailing through transitioning over 24 years of data and having the ability to organize on the fly.

"Now don't be afraid to switch from Windows to Mac!" Edited 2023-04-11

    Pros: - easy to use
    -self-explanatory
    -many functions
    - rich options to design view as you want!
-lots of tutorials and help on how to use available

Cons: I would like like in Windows: Cut - Button, otherwise everything is fine.

Overall: If you switch from Windows to Mac, this app makes handling files and folders much easier! Finder is unusual for the Windows users! One Commander leaves no wish unfulfilled ! you can rely on the program and completely without ''Finder''.

Pros: Easy to use. All the tasks that Finder should be doing but isn't. I'd recommend Commander One Pro to anyone that deals with too many files and folder.

Cons: I haven't really found any functionality that doesn't work as you'd expect it to.

Overall: Overall, I've had a very positive experience with Commander One Pro. The software is great and the service is very good.

"The Finder MacOS needed. The most well rounded file manager for MacOS" Posted 2023-01-09

Pros: Intuitive user experience all the way through. Just what I missed coming from Windows to MacOS. MacOS' Finder is too shallow to even label it as a file manager / organizer but Commander does it better than most on MacOS.

Cons: I wish they get the File / Folder Comparison Sync soon.

Overall: A must have for sensible, intuitive & productive workflow on MacOS. Especially when coming from other OSes, you would feel the pain of using shallow Finder app in MacOS.

Go get Commander One and make your life on MacOS a bit more livable.

Pros: Commander One is a powerful file manager for Mac computers. It offers a variety of useful features, including a two-column view, built-in terminal support, and support for FTP and SFTP.

Cons: Everything is fine. I have nothing to complain about.

Overall: Reminds a bit of the good old Norton Commander from long time long ago. It is a modern development that leaves nothing to be desired.
Overall, Commander One is a great choice for users looking for a powerful and easy-to-use file manager.

"Best software to complement Mac OS." Posted 2022-12-02

Pros: I've moved to Mac from Windows, and managing files, using the system were painful at the beginning. Total Commander eased my transition and became an essential tool that I use everyday. I don't use Finder anymore.

Cons: For what it is promising and doing there are none so far.

Overall: I'm very happy and decided to switch to Pro version even for better features and additional functionality not just for me but for all Mac users in our company.

    "Excellent!" Posted 2022-11-30

    Pros: - Excellent keyboard-only navigation
    - Two panels make it easy and fast to do file manipulations
    - Built-in preview is really handy when you need to quickly look into the contents of a file

Cons: The keyboard shortcuts are different from Windows, but so are all keyboard shortcuts for all Mac apps, really.

Overall: There are no alternatives for Commander One on Mac when it comes to file management and quick navigation.

"The ultimate file tool for me!" Posted 2022-09-30

Pros: As a Mac user and after using multiple ftp tools, Commander one is the ultimate file management tool for me. It's very easy to use, uncluttered, and fast, just what I need. The customer support is very good and gives a quick response to questions even though it is indicated that it may take some time. That's what you need as a customer.

Cons: It's the best ftp program i have used, only con: I was not able to get access to my phone files.

Overall: I have nothing to complain and would recommend this product to everyone who need to get easy access to their file systems.
