Scrolling is broken in Feemind 1.1.0 Beta 2 on OSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite). A new node is not displayed, if it's added to a node that reaches the right border of the window. The new node stays outside the windows client area. Trying to manually scroll the new node into view (using the scrollbars), always jumps back to the display position before scrolling, making it imossible to see the new node.
This issue could be related to this one: https://sourceforge.net/p/freemind/bugs/1204/
Unfortunately, this makes freemind unuseable.

I have the same problem. When I try to scroll with my mouse wheel or with my trackpad or drag to reposition the mindmap screen with a mouse and cursor the view displayed just jumps back to a central view position which it then does not permit me to navigate away from.

Sadly this bug makes Freemind unuseable for me as well.

Closing and re-opening the file allows me a very brief ability to reposition the view however, it goes back to it's fixed position very quickly. I cannot afford to close and re-open my file every time I want to adjust the view.

Also, when the problem is occurring the screen continuously flickers. If I resize the "Note Window" to fill more than 3/4 of the window, the mindmap view flickers non-stop and the scroll-bar shows that it is near-instantaneously jumping from the bottomof the window to the middle and back again.

I have the same problem. after a few hours of use, scrolling becomes broken and is stuck on some central position and when I try to move the map it flickers but does not actually change position. im using version 1.0.1

    Thank you!

Install JDK 8 on your mac
Finder > Applications > Freemind, show package contents, edit info.plist
Remove JVMRuntime key and jdk1.7.0x string

    <key>JVMRuntime</key>
    <string>jdk1.7.0_45.jdk</string>

    Save, open freemind...things work!

you can use atom text editor from github

The workarounds posted above did not work for me. However by changing the zoom level I can get acceptable behaviour. This is cumbersome as changing zoom level is something I often do while exploring maps, and I will need to keep going back to zoom levels that work to edit.

I tried Peter's work around but with a tweak. I downloaded and installed JDK 12. It's working! Thanks!

I tried Peter's work around but with a tweak. I downloaded and installed JDK
12 instead thinking that the latest version is better. Now Freemind starts
but doesn't display anything. Back to the drawing board.

For me, freemind fails to start when I delete the entry from the .plist file.
