WrestleMania 33

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WrestleMania 33 was the thirty-third yearly WrestleMania wrestling Pay-per-view event made by WWE. It happened on April 2, 2017 at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. It was the second WrestleMania that happened at the stadium and the third that happened in Florida. The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) hosted the event. WWE said it was attended by 75,245 people.

Thirteen matches took place at the event, including three on the Kickoff pre-show. For the first time since WrestleMania 29 in 2013, two world championship matches happened: one for Raw's Universal Championship and one for SmackDown's WWE Championship. In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated The Undertaker in a No Holds Barred match, meaning Undertaker lost for the second time at WrestleMania. Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg to win the Universal Championship, becoming the first wrestler to win both the WWE and Universal titles. In the main match from SmackDown, Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt to win his ninth WWE Championship. The event also featured the surprise return of The Hardy Boyz (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy), who won the Raw Tag Team Championship.
