Mary Lynn Carlin (née Reynolds; born January 31, 1938) is an American actress. She is best known for her debut role in the movie Faces (1968), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award.

Carlin was born in Los Angeles. Her career lasted between 1968 to 1987.

Before acting, she was a professional secretary. She is the first nonprofessional to be nominated for an Academy Award.[1]
