Iaido

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iaido (居合道) is a Japanese martial art that focuses on drawing a sword (typically a katana). It is about being aware and being capable of quickly drawing the sword and responding to a sudden attack.[1]

Iaido movements are elegant movements. New learners often start using a wooden sword and then move on to an iaitō (A metal but fairly blunt sword). People that do Iaido may be called iaidoka.
