The iPhone XR (pronounced "ten R") is a smartphone sold by Apple Inc. announced on September 12, 2018, at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. It is succeeding the iPhone X that was released in 2017, like the XS and XS Max. The XR is the most budget-friendly of the iPhones released in 2018 and is available in white, coral, yellow, blue, space gray, and PRODUCT(RED) color options, with 64, 128, or 256 GB storage options. The iPhone XR has a 6.1″ LCD screen and sells starting at US $749.

The XR, along with the XS and XS Max, are the first iPhones to not ship with a Lightning-to-3.5 mm audio adapter.[4] Lightning-to-3.5 mm audio adapters can only be bought separately.

Like the iPhone X before it, the XR contains no home button, with a notch on the front that holds the front camera in place.

Pre-orders for the phones began on October 19, 2018, with the phones available to the public on October 26.[5]
