Girona (Spanish: Gerona; French: Gérone) is a city of northeastern Catalonia, Spain. It is the capital of the province of Girona.

Girona is a city with thousands of years of history and thus is not a surprise that a mix of picturesque architecture together with classic Romanesque and Gothic can be appreciated. In this scenario can be observed: First, the Cathedral (La Catedral), and, further, The Collegiate Church of Sant Feliu. Girona is a city that has been a Roman settlement and then disputed by superpowers of the past (Muslims, Visigoths, Franks, Spanish). Honoring the city” s turbulent historic pass, Girona was one of the filming locations for season 6 of the Game of Thrones series. Many streets and buildings served as places in Braavos and King's Landing, and the interior of the monastery was used as the Citadel in Oldtown.
