John Marwood Cleese Cross, born 27 October 1939, is an English actor, comedian, writer and film producer. He played the role of King Harold in Shrek 2, Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After.
He also narrated cutscenes in the Shrek the Third video game, having more lines there than in the actual film. Apart from the main films, Cleese portrayed King Harold in live-action in the DVD game, "Shrek: Totally Tangled Tales." There, his character took on the roles of several fictional characters.
