Another of Eater's most eagerly anticipated fall restaurant openings has come to fruition. Marination Ma Kai says it's "softly" open, as of 11 a.m. this morning. Here's the update from ground central: "We don't have all of the special new menu items ready to go, but we do have all of the classics that you know and love, we have shave ice, beer, booze, a sweet view, and a whole handful of 70 degree days in the immediate future." So, no fish 'n chips or breakfast items. The spicy pork taco, the kimchi fried rice, and spam sliders though are all available. They're also offering free coffee, until their breakfast food items become available.
Since cicerone Robyn Schumacher is stationed at the Alki location, the beer offerings are more robust than at Marination Station on Capitol Hill. The custom Big's Al's brew made specifically for Marination pairs really well with the saucy food and amazing views of the Seattle skyline.
