The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (福島第一原子力発電所 Fukushima Daiichi Genshiryoku Hatsudensho) is a disabled BWR nuclear pouer plant locatit on a 3.5-square-kilometre (860-acre) steid[1] in the touns o Ōkuma an Futaba in the Futaba Destrict o Fukushima Prefectur, Japan.
The plant suffered major damage frae the magnitude 9.0 yirdquauk an tsunami that hit Japan on Mairch 11, 2011. The incident permanently damaged several reactors makin them impossible tae restairt. Due tae the poleetical climate, the remainin reactors will nae be restairtit. The disaster disabled the reactor cuilin seestems, leadin tae releases o radioactivity an triggerin a 30 km evacuation zone surroondin the plant; the releases continue tae this day. On Aprile 20, 2011, the Japanese authorities declared the 20 km evacuation zone a no-go aurie which mey anly be entered unner govrenment superveesion.
