Camarones is a ceety an commune in the Arica an Parinacota Region in Chile. It forms pairt o the admeenistrative Arica Province an haes a population o 1,220. Its municipality seat is in the toun o Cuyo, locatit next tae the Chile Heich-gate 5. Cuyo is the admeenistrative centre o the commune an a place o rest for travellers. The main touns are Codpa an Caleta Camarones. The latter is a fishin inlet o anerly 44 inhabitants. Codpa is the lairgest toun in the commune, locatit 114 kilometre (71 mi) frae the ceety o Arica. It is a entirely landwart commune wi amaist nae tourist activity, an is weel kent for its unchairtit auries. The anerly Afro-Chilean commonty in Chile is locatit in Camarones.
