Alvito wis the seat of a Duchy, creatit in 1454, on the boondar o the Kinrick o Naples (later, Kinrick o the Twa Sicilies). Alvito, thegither wi Sora, remained faithful tae the Angevine line durin the conquest o Alfonso V o Aragon, bein conquered bi the Aragonese anerly in 1496. Later it wis a possession o the Gallio faimily.

Nicholas, destroyed bi the yirdquauk in 1915, restored in 1934: it haes maintained the chorus an the inlaid cupboards o the 18t hunderyear, ordered bi Pape Clement XIV.
