Quince - A neighbourhood bakery<br />

Welcome to Quince Bakery

A neighbourhood bakery by Anna Higham

Located in the heart of Islington, Quince Bakery was founded by pastry chef, Anna Higham to celebrate British produce and baking traditions. Named after Anna’s favourite fruit, the quince, our bakery’s ethos revolves around quality, integrity, and community. From our carefully curated bread selection to Anna’s seasonal signature bakes, Quince Bakery offers more than just baked goods – it’s a vibrant gathering place where locals and visitors can indulge in delicious treats and build connections.

We will send monthly news on our produce and upcoming events at Quince

Our menu and retail selection will be a celebration of the best of British produce that is available to us each week; Anna is constantly drawing inspiration from the relationships she has cultivated with Quince’s producers and spending time in the field.

Every item on Quince’s shelves has a story and traceable provenance, from the flour milled for us on Landrace Milling’s New American Stonemill (in Somerset) to the relationships with British producers practising agro-ecological and organic methods.

The changing seasons are translated into seasonal flavours in the bakery; in the summer you’ll find Anna making strawberry hand pies and apricot custard buns, and in the autumn our namesake, the quince takes centre stage in the form of quince and rice pudding tart, whilst quince aioli spills out of the roast pork sandwiches. As we move into the cooler months, the heady scent of winter apples, rhubarb and citrus fills our kitchen.

In the shop, we have thoughtfully curated a continuously changing assortment of cheeses, wine, olive oil and honey on our shelves. Each item is chosen with intention and care and is based on relationships that have been nurtured and cultivated over the years.
