Welcome to wedding season — alternatively known as "better reserve that perfect venue now or forever hold your peace" season for those newly betrothed souls about to embark on their own year-plus of planning madness. If your idea of the perfect place hinges on perfect food, look to one of these Philly restaurants to host your reception, from once-in-a-lifetime tasting dinners for small weddings to larger spaces that won't require you to sacrifice your good taste. For those seeking an alternative venue for a wedding, Fringe Bar’s spacious, industrial vibe is great for those who want 80 guests sitting or up to 150 for a standing cocktail reception. Their full restaurant rental also includes the outdoor Haas Biergarten and the Mezzanine.

Lacroix Restaurant

Another really special private dinner option for intimate weddings is French stunner Lacroix, which has a private dining room that can seat 18 and a sweet semi-private option that can fit up to 32 guests for dinner. (If you are looking to go big, the Rittenhouse ballroom offers a more traditional big-wedding setting, but catering is done in-house so you'll still benefit from the kitchen talent here).

High Street

High Street’s 35-seat, 440-square-foot space that’s ideal for small wedding gatherings is known as “The Back Room.” It has its own private Chestnut Street entrance, in-room private bar, glamorous table arrangements, and tech accessibility that’s suitable for daytime or evening celebrations that can fit up to 50 people reception-style.

Michael Schulson's modern Asian restaurant offers a contemporary, artsy setting with customizable event options for groups of different sizes from a few dozen to over a hundred, including the covered outdoor Graffiti Bar (shown) and an option to buy out the whole restaurant.
