As you might've already read, Scarpetta is opening its doors to the public on Wednesday, September 28. The Rittenhouse Hotel's posh Italian restaurant overlooking Rittenhouse Square is LDV Hospitality's first foray into the Philadelphia market—its closest relatives (Marc Forgione's American Cut, Alain Allegretti's Azure, and Lugo Italian) were in Atlantic City's Revel Casino before it shut down.
Philly's Scarpetta will take over where its predecessor, Smith & Wollensky, left off. Situated at 210 West Rittenhouse Square, the restaurant offers floor-to-ceiling vistas of the park, a 30-seat bar and lounge on the ground floor, plus a 150-seat dining room on the upper-level.
Its modern-Italian menu is complemented by an equally modern interior design full of white oak, exposed brick, honed calacatta gold marble, and distressed leather.
