World’s biggest breast sizes by country revealed — see where the US ranked

A new analysis revealed the countries with the largest average breast sizes, with the US ranking in second place.

The report, published by the World Population Review, analyzed the average bust size of 108 countries around the globe, finding which countries boasted the largest average — and which didn’t measure up.

“Breast size is unique to each woman and is influenced by several factors, including genetics, nutrition and diet, weight and body mass index (BMI), fitness level, and age,” the report authors wrote, adding that the average cup size per country varies between AA and C.

The researchers noted that BMI is closely linked to breast size, with higher BMIs often resulting in larger breast size.

However, Norway was an outlier. The country’s average BMI was lower than other countries at 26.2, but the Scandinavian nation took the crown for the largest bust size, averaging between C and D cups.

The US trailed behind in second place, with an average BMI of 29 and a cup size of C, while the UK’s average BMI was 27.1 with an average cup size of C.

At dead last with the smallest average bra size, however, was Greenland, which researchers claimed had an average of A cups and a BMI of 26.7.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an overweight BMI is considered a score of more than 25 and less than 30, while obesity is defined as a BMI of over 30.

“Overall, it is striking that increased breast sizes often occur in countries where obesity is also a problem,” World Data researchers reported last year, when they announced that Norway, Iceland, the UK and the US were the countries with the largest breast sizes.

“The female breast consists to a large extent of fatty tissue and glands. The shape of the breasts also depends not only on genetic factors but also on the fat content and composition of the connective tissue.”

The measurement for bra sizes is determined by measuring the band or “underbust” size, denoted by a number, and the fullest part of the breast, denoted by a letter.

“The greater the difference between these measurements, the larger the cup size,” the researchers explained.

“It is important to remember that not all sizes within a given cup size will be the same. For example, a 32C is much smaller in volume than a 42C because there is a greater difference in the band size and fullest part of the breast measurements.”
