That Beyoncé is a force, powered by her Hive, isn’t news to anyone. But she took things to another level following the release of Renaissance, a groovy dance album that prompted a sold-out, worldwide tour and created a summer of wearing silver. Two years later, people are still asking for the visuals. This year, we got the second act of the Renaissance rollout with Cowboy Carter, a country album that pays homage to the singer’s southern roots and Black contributions to country music. In the midst of that, she also managed to launch hair-care line Cécred, perfume, and whiskey brand SirDavis.
Her output is impressive — and I talked to eight die-hard Beyoncé fans to unearth the coolest, most interesting, and slightly quirky gifts for fans who have been down with Bey since Writing’s on the Wall.
Beyoncé albums on vinyl
“It’s almost blasphemy if you have a Beyoncé fan in your life and they don’t own the [vinyls],” says Miles Hicks, a longtime Beyhive member. He owns two versions of her latest album, Cowboy Carter — the original, a limited-edition version that features Beyoncé posed similarly to the Statue of Liberty and wearing a sash that reads “act ii: Beyincé,” and the official edition, which comes with a 40-page booklet and a collectible poster. Hicks says the records slightly differ, with the original limited edition missing the ending run of “II Hands II Heaven,” “Ya Ya,” and “The Linda Martell Show,” but both are worth it if you value Beyoncé’s knack for creating powerful images. That’s why Imani Shackee, another superfan, collects. “I don’t have a record player, but I still buy them because the images in these books are so beautiful. Beyoncé is always going to give us a look. It’s something pretty to look at while we wait for the visuals that are never coming.”
We heard from singer and dancer Devonnie Rowe and from professional dancers Maycee Steele and Kaitlyn Hardy-Wiltshire, who created the viral TikTok dance to “Cuff It,” that they would love to have Renaissance on vinyl. “Beyoncé carries herself in an elegant, fierce, and intellectual way that gives me enough confidence to make people turn their heads and know who I am,” Rowe said, adding that Renaissance is worthy of hanging onto and passing down to the next generation.
“I love how Beyoncé is relentless; she sets the highest standards and shows her effort when she performs,” says Regina Colantonio, founder of the weekly newsletter Here Comes Gina. “She could easily rest on her laurels and coast. But she would never.” That endless drive is what led PR specialist Natalie Bickel to listen to the Homecoming live album “nonstop” when training for a half-marathon. Now the vinyl edition is at the top of Bickel’s wish list: “I’d like to listen to it when I’m full of caffeine, yet comfortable in my home in a refreshed, yet nostalgic way,” she says.
Jessy Fofana, founder and CEO of LaRue PR and a self-professed Beyoncé superfan, said she is endlessly inspired by Beyoncé’s fearlessness. “She is out there not only representing in media, mass media, pop culture, but she’s also representing strong,” Fofana says, adding that she appreciates the way the singer does this “without worrying about offending people, without worrying about the propriety or what’s politically correct for white people — and that’s how I want my kids to be.” Fofana ranks the vinyl edition of Beyoncé’s iconic storybook album, Lemonade, high on the list of the best gifts she’s ever received because she considers it one of the artist’s most impactful bodies of work. “Lemonade spoke to me. It was a few years ago, so I was in my 40s, but my younger, wronged-by-my-ex-boyfriend self heard it. All of her badassery was there,” she says.
A bottle of SirDavis
Four Beyoncé fans I spoke to mentioned SirDavis, Beyoncé’s whiskey brand that’s already steeped in lore. Prior to launch, the singer anonymously submitted the whiskey to various spirits awards, including the SIP Awards, where it placed best in class. Hicks says it would be a perfect gift because it’s consumable but also hard to get. “It’s practically sold out in almost every single store or location that you’re able to find it,” he says. The bottle is also nice-looking and can be repurposed and displayed after it’s empty.
Beyoncé tour DVDs
Before the Renaissance film and Homecoming documentary, there were the Beyoncé tour DVDs. They’re deeply nostalgic and a time capsule of young Bey and that era of her music. “These are super-sacred,” says Shackee. “Growing up, it was an event for me and my mom when the tour was coming on HBO. My mom would buy HBO for the day and we yelled our lungs out singing the songs,” she says. You can generally find these used for not much money, and while the concert films are available to stream, the analog format of the DVD is part of the charm.
Beyoncé CDs
A physical CD serves a similar purpose. Publicist and Beyoncé superfan Cameron Owen says he routinely listens to the CD version of Beyoncé’s first album, Dangerously in Love, while driving. Since CDs and dinosaur fossils are essentially one and the same these days, her first album in its original format — complete with the old-school liner notes — can make a special nostalgia-tinged gift. (Car with a CD player not included, of course.)
A bottle of perfume
Hicks said if he were to receive a fragrance gift this season, he would want it to be Cé Noir. He initially sniffed the fragrance at the Renaissance tour — they were passing out samples — and immediately fell in love. Shackee agrees. “Cé Noir is for the Heat girlies,” she says. “If you know, you know.” Longtime fans will remember Beyoncé’s first fragrance, the iconic Heat perfume, a musky gourmand that had notes of amber, musk, and peach. While Cé Noir is definitely different, it has elements of that original scent. There’s base notes of golden amber and Namibian myrrh and top notes of clementine and golden honey along with rose and jasmine sambac rounding out the scent.
A Cécred gift set or candle
Hicks has already purchased Cécred holiday sets for his mom, sister, and partner. “There’s no better gift than self-care and ritual,” he says. “I’m looking forward to a wash day with my boyfriend.” The kit includes a limited-edition wide-tooth comb, a travel-size shampoo and scalp scrub — a favorite of our friends at the Cut — hydrating shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil, along with a makeup bag that features the brand’s logo.
Both Shackee and Hicks have recommended the candle as a complement to the wash-day routine. “Wash day for Black women can be a full-on day and I love that we can set intentions, set the vibe, and really take care of ourselves by lighting a candle while washing our hair.” The brand’s candle is a limited-edition release for holiday, which the fan who loves coveted merch will appreciate. The main notes are oud, sandalwood, musk, jasmine, Haitian vetiver, and violet leaves — an earthy, spicy combination that will transform the scent of a room.
Beyoncé-themed clothing
Steele and Hardy-Wiltshire said they’d love to have the stunning Renaissance cover art, which sees Beyoncé posing on the back of a luminous horse, on an oversize sweatshirt. This unisex crewneck features an embroidered version and is made from a cotton-polyester blend.
All the fans we talked to highlighted how impressed and inspired they are by Beyoncé’s incredible work ethic. “Of course I love Beyoncé’s music, but I really like the mogul that she is,” says Hardy-Wiltshire. Colantonio, who owns this shirt, recommended it as an encouraging nod to that mogul status and all the effort it took to achieve. “While Beyoncé seems superhuman, she’s worked for years to get where she is. It gives me hope for my own dreams,” says Colantonio, adding that “I also wear it to reproductive-rights protests to remind women that our efforts will pay off one day.”
A Renaissance-themed fan
Renaissance is heavily influenced by Black queer culture, and the tour’s aesthetics reflected that. “Heated,” for example, featured fan clacking, and the branded fan became popular among concertgoers. Post-tour, Hicks says he’s seen friends hang them up in their apartments. “They’re like art pieces,” he says. He recommends this customizable option from Etsy, which can say “Heated” or whatever else you want — provided it’s 12 characters or fewer.
A lyric-inspired sign
Strip lights and neon signs are trends in their own right, and tech publicist Nikki Stephens says combining them with Beyoncé lyrics is a no-brainer gift to “cement your Beyhive status.” This LED neon light can be customized with up to two lines of text, and there are 30 fonts to choose from. Stephens said she’d customize hers with one of the most well-known Beyoncé lines, “Who run the world?”
A graphic Beyoncé biography
Owen put us onto this vibrant, Beyoncé-centric coffee-table book that is filled with “awesome visuals and interesting facts” about the star. The book is brimming with rainbow-colored infographics and curious career highlights (like a map of her awards collection); Owen says he prominently displays his copy in his living room and it’s “always a conversation starter.”
A book about voguing
If going to the Renaissance tour inspired your recipient to dig deeper into ballroom subculture, Shackee recommends gifting them a book like Voguing and the House Ballroom Scene of New York. Photographer and documentarist Chantal Regnault spent the tail end of the 1980s immersed in Harlem’s ballroom scene and produced hundreds of images, which have been collected in this book along with interviews with some of the scene’s legendary figures.
An IYKYK bag
Highly coveted and slightly elusive, Black-owned brand Telfar has a hive-like following of its own — but when Beyoncé was photographed sporting the medium white Shopping Bag in 2022, current and new fans alike couldn’t get their hands on one fast enough. Stephens, who says she has her Instagram notifications set to alert her to new Telfar drops, says that seeing Bey with it made her “try that much harder to grab one.”
Beyoncé also likes Brandon Blackwood, another Black-owned accessories brand. She is often spotted wearing the Trunk Bag, a signature piece for the label. “They work really well as a walk-around-town handbag when you don’t want to carry a Telfar or tote,” says Hicks. There’s also a B on the clasp, which Hicks says “just makes sense.”
A cowboy hat
Cowboy Carter did a lot for the yeehaw agenda — a phrase coined by pop-culture archivist Bri Malandro to describe the Black western aesthetic — inspiring many fans to buy cowboy hats. The classic hatmaker Stetson was responsible for many of Beyoncé’s custom hats on tour, but Hicks says the Gigi Pip ones are an affordable and nice-looking alternative. “I tested a few, and these were the closest match to Stetson quality without the $300 price tag,” he says. He wears the XL, which fits his locs and Afro perfectly.
If you do want to copy Bey’s look, the hat she wore to the 2024 Grammys — a white Stetson Shasta 10X Premier — is also available for purchase.
The disco cowboy hat is also available from the Etsy seller that designed Beyoncé’s. It’s extra-blingy and can be customized with trim and lights. While wearable, it would also make for cool home décor.
A Renaissance x Cowboy Carter stocking stuffer
This hanging ornament is a fun nod to both Renaissance acts. Beyoncé has also been spotted driving around with one in her car. “If you want to get something small and you don’t know the person that well, it’s a perfect option,” says Hicks.
Tiffany’s x Renaissance
Beyoncé and Tiffany’s have a longstanding relationship — she’s been partnering with the brand since summer 2021 — so it makes sense that the two teamed up on a Renaissance collection. It’s a playful riff on the “Please Return” charm bracelets, which were incredibly popular in the aughts and 2010s. This gift also does a bit of good. All of the proceeds go toward a scholarship for HBCUs. “If someone bought me this, I’d be happy as a Beyoncé fan, but also spoken to as far as my taste level,” says Hicks.
A Beyhive inside joke
For a nonobvious, deep-cut gift, Hicks recommends this olive oil, which Beyoncé posted about in 2022. Following a Renaissance-filled summer, fans eagerly awaited the release of the visuals (for the record, they’re still waiting). By the holidays, anticipation had reached fever pitch. Instead of dropping videos or imagery, Beyoncé posted this olive oil from Saint Supply that apparently promotes general well-being. “A Beyhive stan would think, Oh, got it,” says Hicks.
