Chef Marc Forgione plans to open another Tribeca restaurant.
This time around the chef, who is most known for his eponymous New York City restaurant and competing on The Next Iron Chef, is opening a new spot at 16 Hudson Street, between Duane and Reade streets.
Partner Christopher Blumlo confirmed the new restaurant to Eater, saying it will most likely be similar in style to what they’re doing at their new American restaurant Marc Forgione, which opened around the corner in 2008. Blumlo says a menu and concept haven’t been completely defined yet, as the team wants to wait until the space is ready for occupancy before deciding. They’ll move into the space in about four to six months, at which point the build-out will begin.
It’s not the only project Forgione is working on this year: The chef-restaurateur recently teamed up with his influential father and chef Larry Forgione and the Butter Group of popular clubby spots like 1Oak to open a new Meatpacking District restaurant. When it opens next month, it’ll be a big Italian-Mediterranean spot called Davide, located where Asian-ish clubstaurant Spice Market once stood.
Forgione last opened the well-reviewed steakhouse American Cut with LDV Hospitality in 2016. Stay tuned.
