Hamptons Hotspot Moby’s Will Reopen on Waterfront

Former Hamptons scene Moby’s will live again. The popular coastal Italian restaurant — which lost its lease last year and was replaced by Eleven Madison Park pop-up EMP Summer House — has found a new home in East Hampton Point.

Partners Lincoln Pilcher, a photographer and former model, and Nick Hatsatouris, who’s also the restaurateur behind Trapizzino and Eveleigh in LA, have signed a two-year lease for a waterfront restaurant at 295 Three Mile Harbor Hog Cree Road. The space has been run by the East Hampton Point hotel owners since it opened in 1993, and this is the first time independent operators are taking it over.

The menu will be similar to the old Moby’s, along with some new additions. ”It seemed like people really missed Moby’s, so it’s nice to be able to return at such a beautiful property with the water views, great sunsets, and the ability to pull up your boat in the afternoon,’’ Hatsatouris says. “We thought this location to be a great fit for the laid back nautical vibe we’re known for.’’

In other Hamptons news, the large Japanese restaurant Kozu at 136 Main Street in Southampton has closed, and Wolfgang Ban, who owns East Village Austrian spot Edi & the Wolf, will open a French Mediterranean spot there called Maison Vivienne.
