Here is a look around Jose Garces's Amada, now open in Battery Park City. This marks the third location of the Spanish restaurant that got its start back in Philadelphia a decade ago, and earned the chef a James Beard award. Garces tells Eater that he was looking to create "different environments" within the space. The chef and his team worked with the design whizzes over at AvroKO on this project. After ten different layouts, the team settled on the final design, which divides the space into roughly six of these environments. The entrance to the resultant is via the bar, which leads to the main dining room, followed by a chef's kitchen that houses a chef's table and counter in addition to table seating. There are also private dining rooms, and an adjoined tapas bar, with patio seating for 60 guests coming soon.
