Gender Bias

With the issue of gender bias in the food world coming increasingly into question, the Times takes a long look at the increasing number of women in the restaurant industry. Among other notable women and restaurants, Julia Moskin points to Michael White's Altamarea group, where now 50 percent of kitchen staff are women, and Lauren DeSteno was just promoted to chef de cuisine at Marea.
