Hunan (Chinum: 湖南; pinyin: 
Húnán) es provinse del Populen Republike de China, situat in li sud-central parte del lande ti li sud del middle reaches del Yangtze River e sud de Lake Dongting (dunke li nome Hunan, kel signifika "sud del lage").[1] Hunan is sometimes called and officially abbreviated as "湘" (pinyin: Xiāng) for short,[2] after li Xiang River which runs through li provinse.
Hunan borders Hubei in li nord, Jiangxi ti li esti, Guangdong ti li sudesti, Guangxi ti li sudwest, Guizhou ti li west, e Chongqing ti the nordwest. Li chef-urbe es Changsha.
