The month of June marks International Pride Month, with Nashville’s 2022 Pride Festival and Parade slated for June 25 and 26 at Bicentennial Capitol Mall and Park. But you don’t have to wait until then to join in a hearty “y’all means all” rally cry. You can support Nashville’s local LGBTQ destinations by supporting any one of the numerous queer-owned businesses in the city, and by visiting its queer bars, spaces, and drag venues, this month and beyond.

While not all of the city’s iconic queer bars have announced their plans for Nashville Pride, they’re sure to drop soon, so follow along on social media for details and check out the complete listing of official festivities this year. Eat, drink and be merry at these Nashville essentials.

“Come as you are, no matter what you are, “ is the motto for this East Nashville hot spot otherwise known as The Lip. Even though it’s revered as Nashville’s premier lesbian bar, it’s really known as a safe space for all. You’re as likely to sing a gospel hymn on Sunday with your favorite Nashville drag queen during brunch as you are to throw a game of darts, compete for the tab during trivia night, or catch the latest in local onstage musical talent.

Tribe was the first queer-friendly spot from David Taylor, the owner behind Suzy Wong’s House of Yum, and Play Dance Bar; Taylor’s aim for a gay bar ‘nice enough to bring your Mama, but probably never would.’ It’s known for a slew of weekly events, from bingo to karaoke and of course, show tunes Sunday.

Located on Church Street and arguably the best dance club in town featuring an impressive lineup of resident DJs, there is also a killer drag theater featuring weekly guest stars, and, of course, drinks all around.

Suzy Wong’s House of Yum does their live drag shows Friday through Sunday mornings all year long, with a second seating extending the fun from brunch to dinner. The tapas-style menu features made-to-order sushi, shared plates, and “yum” bowls with rice.

Self-proclaimed “the epitome of the ‘queer space’ where all are welcome, the weird are reveled, and the allies are championed,” this Church Street favorite is touted for serving the strongest drinks in town. From karaoke to late-night dance parties, grab a cocktail and soak it all up with menu staples like drunken fries, or pulled pork tacos.

Tacos, wings, and their infamous chicken quesadillas grace the menu of this “casual, no-attitude” venue brought to you by the previous club owners of Blue Genes and Vibe. Boasting a 2500-square-foot patio space just a mile from Downtown Nashville, here is where you can enjoy everything from art shows to drag shows, or kick up your boots during country line dance lessons, or perhaps join in on game night. Expect a slew of Pride weekend event programming at the end of the month, from karaoke to special brunches and line dancing.

Virgin Nashville is the official hotel host for the city’s Pride weekend, so it’s no surprise they’ll host events all throughout the month of June. These include the official kickoff pool party on June 4, a drag tea on June 12, live music on the rooftop, Elvis day on June 23, and more. Check out the full list of events here.

Very much that neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name, this long-standing classic sits on the cusp of Wedgewood-Houston and Chestnut Hill communities. Mark your calendars for June 26th, when Mayor Cooper will join numerous performers in commemorating Nashville’s beloved late Bianca Paige by dubbing the intersection where Trax sits as Bianca Paige Way.
