Bourbon Steak Nashville opens to the public on Monday, September 10, with a spectacular showing of steak and floor-to-ceiling windows. Celebrity chef and entrepreneur Michael Mina brings Music City its own outpost of the popular restaurant with locations across the country. Helmed locally by executive chef Michael Lishchynsky and general manager Jayson Storicks, the restaurant is located on the 34th floor of newly opened JW Marriott at 201 8th Avenue South.
Menu options at the 280-seat restaurant range from Michael’s ahi tuna tartare and Maine lobster pot pie, to some of his signature preparations like a black truffle mac & cheese. Beefy menu highlights include a table-side hickory-smoked 30-Day dry-aged porterhouse and world-wide wagyu trio of Japanese A5 strip loin, Australian filet, and American rib cap. Non-beef-eating diners can instead sort through a selection of seafood offerings such as buttered shellfish platters, sashimi, tartare, and crudo.
As for the boozy side of things, look for classics like Manhattans, negronis, and martinis, with a spirit selection including “as many Tennessee whiskeys as possible.” Oenophiles can drink their way through the highly-curated wine list of more than 350 labels from both the Old and the New World. Bourbon Sky — the restaurant’s 40-seat circular bar — services an indoor lounge and outdoor terrace overlooking downtown. A roaming custom-made cocktail cart offers table-side bourbon flights throughout the dining room, and a specialty menu of five to six rotating seasonal cocktails is exclusive to the Bourbon Sky lounge.
The design is a contemporary interpretation of a classic steakhouse. Expect large-scale circular chandeliers, a bourbon-inspired color palette accented with striking shades of blue, and brass details.
Mina currently operates over two-dozen restaurants across the country, including other locations of Bourbon Steak in Phoenix, Miami, and Washington, D.C. Mina’s eponymous Bay Area restaurant currently holds one Michelin star.
Once up and running, Bourbon Steak Nashville’s hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Bourbon Sky lounge will be open 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
