Earn your BM in Woodwinds

Woodwind majors at the University of Iowa School of Music are offered a wide array of academic and performance opportunities guided by a dedicated faculty of artist teachers.

The woodwind area maintains a series of guest artist master classes and recitals with artists from around the world. Also, woodwind students have regularly been the winners of the University of Iowa Symphony Band and Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competitions as well as the chamber music competition and the Iowa Council for the Arts Competitions. Numerous fellowships and named scholarships are available to wind players, including the prestigious Himie Voxman Award, the Meredith Willson Award, the Rosheim Award, and the Ester Madison.
