Appearance[]

Medaka is a tall, young man with a laid-back and somewhat indifferent expression. He has short, spiky dark brown hair and tired-looking eyes that give him a calm, reserved demeanor. His skin tone is fair, and he often stands with a relaxed posture.
He wears a dark blue V-neck sweater with his school's crest on the left side, over a white-collared shirt. His dark blue pants match the uniform's formal style, and he finishes his outfit with brown loafers, completing his neat yet understated look.
Personality[]
Medaka is a normal teenager with an outrageous sense of duty and a serious commitment to his future duty of becoming a monk. Even after switching schools and taking up the challenge of attending a co-ed school to strengthen his commitment, he makes sure he doesn't give in to the temptations posed by Mona Kawai, his most beautiful and popular classmate.
Even with strong resistance, he isn't completely immune to the charms of Mona, as it's shown multiple times that he thinks of her as "cute" or gets flustered when they are in an awkward situation. Many of his friends, like Mona, Asahi and Tomo, also see him as an aloof and kind classmate and senior. Though his closeness with Mona often gets him in a bad position with his guy friends.
He has shown to think about his friends a lot demonstrating his thoughtfulness on various occasions with Mona, Asahi and Tomo. He is also very fond of cats and music. }}
Plot[]
Medaka is a main character in the series 'Medaka Kuriowa is impervious to My Charms'. Mona Kawai frequently tries to get him to fall in love with her, to no avail. Medaka can't, because his religion says no basically. Another girl, Asahi Shonan, has a crush on him, and competes with Mona for his love frequently. As of Chapter 172, it looks like there isn't a real competition for him, as he only really thinks about Mona and in comparison the other girls regularly fail to make an impression on him. Also, Tomo Namba has joined the competition and it looks like Karin Aoba is joining it too, but based on how Medaka reacted to the incident with Karin's breast pads, she might not even leave a mark on his mind.
Relationships[]
Mona Kawai[]
Mona is the evergreen beauty of Medaka's class and also the lady trouble of his life. Ever since he shifted schools, Mona has been there on a mission to make him fall for her. Despite her strong and extremely bold advances, Medaka keeps his calm thanks to his scriptures. While on one glance, it can be seen Mona doesn't let him catch a breath. We get to see as time goes forward that Medaka can also not take his eyes off Mona.
What was at once a challenge for Mona, becomes an unwavering love for Medaka as she finds herself slowly falling for the monk-in-making. It is safe to say Medaka himself is experiencing his true love on this awkward yet humorous journey of school life.
As of Chapter 41, Mona has acknowledged her feelings for Medaka. As of Chapter 172, Medaka still adores Mona's personality, both her true self and the popular girl persona she puts up for her high school life, he believes her true personality that slips out when she interacts with him is very cute and attractive (since chapter 41), but he's still reluctant to acknowledge that as romance and avoids thinking about it. Mona will probably have to directly confront Medaka to get him to take care of it, otherwise it seems like he'll continue avoiding it until directly confronted.
Asahi Shonan[]
Medaka sees her as a friend but Asahi is romantically interested in him. As of Chapter 172, she's still behind Mona in the competition and has even unwittingly helped Mona by telling her she kissed Medaka on the cheek while he was blindfolded. This got Mona to go on a date with Medaka and left him thinking about Mona alot instead of Asahi, though Medaka didn't officially consider it a date.
