A new bride died in a horror solo car crash just three months after her wedding day. photo released December 26 2024. Amy Stokes, 20, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Astra which which crashed on December 23. Another passenger in the Astra and the car's driver suffered non-life threatening injuries in the accident, police said. The horror crash, in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, came just three months after Amy tied the knot to husband Damien.

A lost cat has been reunited with his owners after going missing from the family home - for seven years. Boots the ginger Tomcat vanished from owner Mary-Ann Lloyd's Birmingham home in 2017. And when the family moved a few miles away, they were sure they would never see their beloved pet again. But amazingly he had been hanging around his family's former neighbourhood where he was being fed by residents who did not know who he belonged to. Mary-Ann said: "We had been through such real heartbreak and so we're just so happy to have him back."

Charlie Cavey, 36, measures 5ft 9 tall but amazingly manages to play his guitar inside a tiny metal litter bin. His job is rather cramped and smelly but he is a huge hit with visitors in the historic city of Cambridge, where he always attracts crowds of people. "It's funny because people can hear the music but can't work out where it's coming from, then they suddenly realise I'm in the bin and get their cameras out," he said. "It's good fun and I like making people laugh, but I get pins and needles after a while as I'm in a squat position and I can only play about four songs before I have to get out and stretch. "I also find people throw rubbish into the bin without realising I'm inside, or they leave coke cans on top of the bin which attracts wasps. I feel a bit like a human ice cream in there."

ESA Mars Express image show 'winter wonderland' Mars scene, with layers of ice hugging the hilltops. Space scientists have shown off images of a white Christmas - on Mars. Calling the scene a "winter wonderland", the European Space Agency (ESA) said the images were captured by their Mars Express spacecraft at the normally red planet's south pole. The observations show an enigmatic landscape in the Australe Scopuli region of the Mars' southern hemisphere. ESA said Thursday (18 Dec): "Here, swirls of carbon dioxide ice and dust layers wrap around the scene, turning the Red Planet white.
