The Resistance residing within Zion
The Resistance consists of the only free humans on Earth who are still fighting against enemy Synthients to regain freedom and some control of the planet. Their mission is to free humanity from the Matrix - a massive virtual simulation of Earth.
Members of the Resistance have various roles. Some stay within the established underground city to foster its growth while some become part of hovercraft crews who venture out of the city, recovering resources, performing attacks and sabotage, or finding potentials threatened within the Matrix, rescuing them into eventual redpills taken into their cause.
History[]
The Resistance lived in the last human city of Zion for warmth, power, and protection. According to Zionite tradition, The One freed the first redpills nearly a century before and were taught the truth about the Matrix - then a simulation of the late 20th century - before eventually founding the city. They would then learn that The One would return, in fulfillment of the Prophecy, to end the war once and for all. However, unbeknownst to them, the foundation of Zion and the return of The One had already cyclically happened 5 times prior to Neo exposing the truth about The Oracle's prophecy and the Prime Program.
