PL-47 is a Machine-designed cosmic vessel capable of going into space. It looked like a flying teacup and flew like ships from "Star Wars". The spacecraft existed both in the Matrix and the Real World. The Real World version could be jacked into which would allow the pilot to have an expanded 360 perspective of the aircraft from top to bottom and including inside the cabin. This version was also equipped with enough firepower to pose threat to both aliens and the Machines.

On an unknown date in the Real World, aliens attacked Earth by hurling asteroids at the planet, one of which hit a central processing unit housing humans in London and killing 200,000 people. Machines worked fast to counter the aliens and started building the PL-47, using the RAF within an over-clocked Matrix to train, in an accelerated rate, an unnamed Goliath-like man into becoming the PL-47 pilot. The pilot was then pulled out from the Matrix, given the PL-47 spacecraft, and ordered to destroy the alien spaceship. Although the pilot succeeded, the Machines, short on time and cautious of a human-controllable spacecraft, never designed the spacecraft to ever re-enter Earth.
