ニュージーランド最大のワイン産地 Marlborough （マールボロ）にあるワイナリー Te Whare Ra（TWR）。家族経営で、オーガニック栽培にこだわる小さなワイナリー。

ニュージーランドにしては草っぽい香りが抑えめで、代わりにテイスティングノートにもあるようなフルーツや花のような香りが印象的な1本。お買い得。

Te Whare Ra is a small, organic, family-run winery in Marlborough's Wairau Valley that we loved so much that we decided to import them directly! That means more bang for your buck. Their Sauvignon Blanc combines tropical passion fruit and lychee notes with cooler qualities of elderflower, citrus and gooseberry from the Awatere fruit. Great mid-palate texture and fresh, yet restrained, acidity on the finish. 1,700 cases made. (Ryan Woodhouse NZ / Aussie Specialist) Winemaker's Notes: " All fruit is hand picked and hand sorted. Free run and light press juice is combined and fermented with carefully selected aromatic yeast. The wine is aged on fine lees for added texture and richness. 90% of the fruit came from Trelawne Farrm vineyard in upper Awatere, and the remaining 10% from the home block in Renwick, Wairau."

K&L Club Italiano 2009 12月のワイン。
イタリア、アドリア海に面した Marche （マルケ）州の造り手、Poderi San Lazzaro。2003年に創業したこの若い造り手は、今回飲んだ Montepulciano、Sangiovese それぞれの単独品種、その2種をブレンドした赤ワイン、それから白ワインを年間40,000本生産している。

複雑で後味がとても長いワイン。甘めの果実味が印象的で、イタリアらしい土臭い印象はあまりなかった。ブラインドで飲んだらローヌと間違えそう。

It is a deep, rich wine with a plush core of sweet, dark fruit that gradually emerges as the wine sits in the glass. This elegant, full-bodied red offers notable elegance and balance, but it needs some air before it shows its true potential. It is an impressive effort from this young property. 南アフリカ、ケープタウン郊外の Stellenbosch（ステレンボッシュ）に位置するワイナリー、Reyneke。1998年に創業したばかりのこの若いワイナリーは、オーガニックかつBiodynamic （バイオダイナミック、ビオデナミ） 製法にこだわり、高品質なワインを生産している。

ロワールやニュージーランドとは全く異なる濃厚かつ独特なミネラル感を持つ Sauvignon Blanc。南アフリカのワインは数えるほどしか飲んだことがないので、赤ワインを含めてもう少し飲んでみたい。

San Jose 近くの Saratoga にある Mount Eden Vineyards。Santa Cruz Mountain （Santa Clara Valley）にある Estate Vineyard と、San Luis Obispo 近くの Edna Valley にて、Pinot Noir、Chardonnay、Cabernet Sauvignon を少量生産している。今回飲んだ Saratoga Cuvee は同ワイナリーのフラッグシップであるエステートワインのセカンド的な位置づけであり、2009年ヴィンテージ以降は Domaine Eden というラベルにその名を変更している。

カリフォルニアらしい樽香の効いたシャルドネ。とは言え樽香が強すぎることは決して無く、上品な味わいの1本。

Winemaker's notes （引用）:
We grown Chardonnay on two mountaintops, Mount Eden and Domaine Eden. All the viticulture and winemaking is the same for both. What is different is the expression. As we go through the barrels in early spring- after the wines have finished their fermentations - we look for distinctions based on ageability. The Saratoga Cuvee selections show an earlier drinking personality, more precocious as it were. While the Estate wine is more reserved and destined for bottle evolution.

With that preamble, this vintage displays classic Old World aromas of hazelnut, lanolin and cherry pit. The palate is nicely textured from barrel fermentation, sur-lie ageing and minimal processing. Expect a slow, positive evolution (this is Mount Eden, you know) over the next five years.

Total production: 2,513 cases
