One more thing I need to add to my previous entry '12 Things You May Not Know About Pixar' is that the company sold all the ultra-high-end Pixar Image Computers while supply lasted. Until the last piece. So when they realized there was none left, they bought it on eBay from a dentist. Masa told me that as he found out it was a bid from Pixar, he raised the price a bit:) Now it's showcased in Pixar's Render Farm.

そういえば「ピクサーについて知っておくべきこと12」でひとつ書き忘れたことがあった。

ピクサーも最初は超ハイエンドな映像処理用コンピュータを作って売り歩いてたんだけど、これが家の敷金ぐらい高くてちっとも売れない。ラセターがコンピュータの営業用にサンプル映像作って、そちらが評判になって主力が映画製作にシフトする前は本当に経営は苦しかったようで（この墓石のようなピクサー・イメージ・コンピュータを部門ごと売却した先は1年も経たないうちに倒産した）、コンピュータは最後の1台まで売ってしまっていた。

後で気づいたら1台も残ってない。しょうがないのでeBayで歯医者さんから買ったものが今、レンダーファームに展示されている1台というわけね。「相手がピクサーと分かったら値段吊り上げてきたらしいよ」とmasaさんが笑ってた。
