I saw this movie a few months ago now, and it is still my favorite movie and I think it will remain so.
La La Land directed by Damien Chazelle in 2016 is a musical that was a big hit, especially at the Golden Globes, where it will win 7 out of 7 of its nominations which makes it an all-time record.
No this movie is not good, this movie is not great, this movie is not extraordinary, this movie is absolute perfection! The story is touching, the actors are fantastic, the direction is masterful! The transitions are a great strength, they are perfectly executed without breaking the rhythm. And what about the music? Even today I listen to them regularly, they are sublime! The photography is indescribably beautiful. The choreographies are simple but they are enough and I think that is its charm.
La La Land has a great point: its end. However, you need to have a certain sensitivity and maturity to be moved by it. But honestly, whether we are touched or not, we cannot remain indifferent to such a realization, several minutes of beauty, which come to an end on a painful reality... Yes I had a tear the first time and I am always sad no matter how many times I watch it.
Damien Chazelle is a genius with a great future and I am looking forward to his next films!
