For the kids who grew up with Disney’s straight-to-video releases. (It’s me)
Just didn’t hit the same as the first, which is disappointing to me since Moana is an all-timer for me from Disney. I never got the forced Lin Manuel hate and now look at them. Without his lyrics and musical style they left Moana songs feelings so sauceless. Too many characters and not enough Moana/Maui, but that last act saves the film and brought out the emotions I was wanting. One of those that will benefit the inevitable third film. Curious to see where it goes and hopefully they bring Lin back and learn not to develop D+ shows into movies.
