Argento and De Palma fans rejoiced! Ti West closes out his near perfect trilogy with a giant bang of style. Rich in 80s style that I thought I was over with seeing it in film, but seeing it in the light of the influences that West shows off made me fanboy so hard for my favorite genre. It’s dirty and sleazy, but a slowly built whodunnit that follows Maxine Minx on her way to fame. Being completely different from the previous two films, it’s everything I was expecting to see based on the promotional material, but the De Palma influences was the strongest aspect that took my breath away. Maxine is a fucking movie star and a brutally fun homage of a movie.
