— "evil dead" is exactly how a remake / re-imagining should be done! I LOVE the complete tonal shift for the franchise, the use of practical effects is definitely why most of the gore works as well as it does, it's filled with some of the most unsettling scenes i've ever come across... THE NEEDLE SCENE alone?! i am petrified of needles!!, so you best believe i was on the edge of my seat! fede alverez seriously had the gutsss to pull this off in his DIRECTORIAL DEBUT?! i have mad respect for him after this production. 4.5/5
