The Wild Robot

The Wild Robot

This was just a strange experience after I watched this film. I wrote this at 3 am right on the day after i'm watching it. I just don't know where I write this to end actually. I just got struck so badly emotionally and existentially after I watched this. Maybe it's time to pour it out into my review. After I watched this film this afternoon, somehow I just kinda thinking about my digital footprint and my impact on society or my workspace in general in the future tho. So if my sons are someday looking after this account after I'm gone, congratulations, you found my Pandora box where I put my effort into taking it back to life by watching so many films. If you read this, it's so okay if you wanna cry and beg about your life. But remember, after you are relieved from it, you have to be ready to fight your dream and live up to your world.

Maybe Letterboxd can't make it the top 5 films on every single profile page but, well, proud to say that by the time I wrote this, The Wild Robot had officially become my top 5 films of all time. I gotta update it on my list manually to be sure.

One thing that I just want to have after I watched this trailer is that at first I just wanna cry so badly. I've emotionally dumped my disappointment, sorrow, and the things that were considered as "negative" emotions and feelings that people said that you shouldn't want to feel either way. Yeah, kinda weird right? Neef that always true to self clapping back the society by, well, simply just crying. Stranded in a remote island filled with so many familiar animals yet you don't know how to talk to them is just a metaphorical one that way too relate for me at this moment.

In the first act, so weird enough that I am crying so badly because how the beauty of nature and how their soundscape captures it. And how Roz talks to Fink for the first time, oh god. That looks so fantastic to me. There are just so many scenes that hit home so badly. Having Brightbill in the script is just so brilliantly the best move to bring the plot even broader and at the end of the day, we're having that Brightbill soul that should be nurtured by ourselves.

Well, although there is a plot skip to maintain the screen time that is targeted at the children, I just have no idea how this book adaptation became so gorgeous and translated into a movie. I guess I should have that book. And, by the way, all of my top 4 were made from adaptations from other mediums too. I guess, I just like the adaptation of a kinda thing, mainly from the book. Only if they have strong roots based in writing the scriptwriter should carefully put that to the film that is just less than 3 hours.

Then while the story goes to the second act and final act, there are just so many scenes that are purely emotional that I just can't say it in this, of course, because of spoiler. You won't regret turning off your phone to those sequences just made me lose and transcend flawlessly till I forgot that the film should end in the safest landing I've ever seen. The scoring is so magical, like, it's not so soapy like any orchestral scoring that we always found and heard before. The SFX did an incredible job, although it's not the main thing that is detailed here. It's just the fact that I am disappointed that this film didn't get a chance to be seen in IMAX. It might be cool to have that sort of feeling of being immersed in there. I wonder why. But well, you should watch it in 4DX somehow if you want to have that immersive experience. I watched it on Dolby Atmos by the way. It's just miraculous, gorgeous, screaming-cinema, heart-pounding, everything. It's just so many words that I can put on for this review. I clearly should watch this with my friends online whenever this film comes out soon (maybe on Netflix, or VOD).
