What a wonderful day, for Monkey Mondays are back!
As a huge fan of the reboot saga, this was an absolutely blast. While I’m not as fond of War (of the Planet of the Apes) as the others, this pushed the saga into new and interesting directions that excite me so much!! The effects are - as expected - jaw dropping and the physical acting insane. Freya Allen as Mae is truly wonderful to watch, and I’m so glad that hot girlies will always wear skinny jeans <3 Proximus is such an imposing villain and his motivations are top notch - I just wish it got expanded upon more. Same for Mae, but with the release of deleted scenes that may fix that. Or better yet, with a sequel to expand on the themes and ideas proposed by the text.
That ending made me so excited for the inevitable fifth film, and judging by how popular of a release and how it got the biggest weekend opening for the franchise we are absolutely getting one. Apes together strong! Ape movie incredible!
