okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk sO as someone who has literally been going to see superhero movies as long as they can remember, I can confirm that this is, without a doubt, my favourite! god every aspect was just sO good!!
as a woman of colour it’s so refreshing to a) not feel as though women are just token characters or props and b) not feel as though people of colour are just token characters or props. i came out of this film feeling so fucking good and powerful and happy!! this was my first time going to the cinema alone and im so glad i saw it by myself! (the only other person i maybe would’ve wanted to see it with would’ve been my dad but it’s cool). I don’t think many people will understand how much this film means to me but oh well.
things we now know:
- hey auntie and we’re vegetarian invented comedy - daniel kaluuya finally got the partner he deserves, whether his character deserves her is something else... - black people really can wear any colour - seeing black teenage girls working in tech was so fucking refreshing and made me super duper happy - michael b jordan always has and always will be a good looking boy - my halloween costume for next year is sorted (shuri)
