Villeneuve has done it again. Easily one of the greatest cinema experiences I’ve had in a while. Incredibly ambitious and delivers technically, visually and on so many other levels. Not a single scene or even line is wasted - perfect from beginning to end. Action sequences so thrilling that I doubt you’ll see any quite as good anywhere else. Each character is fleshed out incredibly well, allowing for the continuous sense of fear to build up. All performances are wonderful, particularly Austin Butler, who unexpectedly delivers one of the best portrayals of a psychotic antagonist I’ve ever seen and what an introduction. Powerful, tense, riveting and definitely exceeds not only the levels of its already brilliant predecessor, but all others in the sci-fi genre.
