I saw this at a 5pm showing the day it was released, and despite being in the movie screening from hell, the movie punched through, and it hasn’t left my mind since. We have a pod coming out soon about the film, but wow, what immense power.
I’m seeing it for a second time in four hours, and already have IMAX tickets for two future screenings at two different theaters.
The film is much more reliant on human drama than action, which I did not anticipate, but remained pleasantly stunned by. Oppenheimer has more in common with 1970s paranoid thrillers than it does with Nolan’s action films. And I LOVE that.
