Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?
A perfect example of how uplifting cinema can be when done right, and how to execute a holiday film to absolute perfection.
It's a Wonderful Life is charming to an almost insane degree, hilarious with its quirky 40's style humour, beautifully presented, rich with emotional depth, filled with themes that resemble the holiday perfectly & such a smooth, easy-to-watch film that I never felt a single minute of it. While some of it was a little bit too corny for my taste, I can't think of a single moment where I wasn't smiling from cheek to cheek or filled with happiness. This will be the kind of film I turn on a rough day to elevate myself out of the dumps & I doubt there will be a time where it doesn't succeed in doing that.
If there's a definitive holiday film or family film this might be it.
